Asus router lan not downloading 20mb files

When I hook the connection up to my router -- Asus RT-AC68U -- and then connect my laptop to a port on the route (wireless disabled on the MBP) and run the same speed test, I get around 275-350mbit/sec. I've also tried to transfer large files between devices within my network, passing through the router and get roughly the same top speeds.
